I come from a big family and was always exposed to a lot of music, a lot of sports and a lot of church. I still remember that definitive moment when at an event I was able to hear a musician making this unbelievable sound on the organ. It was as if he made the music come alive. In that moment I knew that I wanted to make THAT sound. I think I got my rasp and soulful sound from my grandfather who I would hear singing and humming hymns around the house. The bounce in my music comes from my mom who played piano since she was 5, while my vocal tone comes from my stepdad who was a professional singer. I went through the music program at John Muir High in Pasadena then studied Arranging at Azusa Pacific University. Although I got my start on the drums the piano is now my instrument of choice while song writing and singing is my passion. Hope Covered in Rhyme! That’s the music. That’s the message.
