Praise the Lord, it’s Worship Wednesday.

“But He said, ‘More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” – Luke 11:28

I praise God for His faithfulness and patience. There’s a longing in our core being to have a direct connection with God and to hear His voice. We often speak to God with requests, questions, issues. Yes we also thank Him and give Him praise. But how long do we wait to hear His response when we pray? I used to pray, exalt his name, ask for forgiveness, submit my petition and then when I was done, I’d say amen, get up and continue about my day waiting for God to answer. I don’t know what I was looking for, maybe it the situation changed all of a sudden, on God answered or maybe I’ll hear a small voice guide me during my very loud, very busy day. Well I have learned that God often and consistently speaks through His word. Yes, He can do all of this things that I just mentioned but His word remains.

The Bible has everything we are searching for. When we study His word, the Living Word, we find instruction, confirmation, revelation and understanding, through the Holy Spirit. Have you ever been in a situation and a scripture comes to mind that provides clarity about that current situation? I challenge you today to open your Bible, ask God for a word, to speak to your heart. And after you pray, don’t be too quick to get up. Wait there for a little while, in the peace and quiet. Wait to hear Him respond.
